The Spectacled Bear gets its name from the circular bands of creamy colored fur around its eyes. It lives in the forested mountain areas of South America.
The male Spectacled Bear weighs from 220-340 lbs with a body length of 5-6 ft. and the female is about 30% smaller.
Spectacled Bears eat a wide variety of foods, including mice, birds, rabbits and berries, but they prefer to eat the leaves and plants of the Bromeliacae plant family. These bears will climb cacti to eat the fruit at the top. Also, they will build nests in the tops of trees to use as a feeding platform as well as a sleeping place.
Like most bears, one or two cubs are born from November to February.

The Asiatic Black Bear is also called: Tibetan Black Bear, Himalayan Black Bear and Moon Bear. It is medium size, about 4-6 ft. in length. The males weigh 220-440 lbs and the females 110-275 lbs.
These bears have a white patch of fur on their chest, which is often shaped like a V. The Asiatic Black Bear can be found throughout Southern Asia, Northeast China, Southeast Russia, Taiwan and the Japanese Islands. They live in forested elevations in the hills and mountains.
Their diet consists of bee’s nests, insects, small vertebrates and fruit. They are known to make feeding platforms in nut-bearing trees.

The Sun Bear is also known as the Maylay Bear, Dog Bear or Ape Man. It is the smallest of the bears. Adults are 4-5 ft. long and weigh 60-145 lbs.
Sun Bears live in lowland tropical rainforests in Southeast Asia. They are excellent climbers and sleep in trees. This bear is covered with a black coat of sleek, short hairs. It has a white or yellowish patch on its chest shaped like a half-moon.
The omnivorous Sun Bear lives on a diet of birds, small mammals and termites. It has been known to cause crop damage particularly to oil palms.
Nothing is known about the Sun Bear's social organization in the wild. Cubs are reported to stay with their mothers until fully grown.
Habitat loss in the Sun Bear's range is of major concern, as is the pet trade, poaching for food, fur and the Asian medicinal trade.

The Sloth Bear is relatively small, with long hair and shaggy coat. The bear is often black, but sometimes reddish animals have been seen. The nostrils of the muzzle can be closed at will, possibly as a defense from termites which make up a large portion of their diet. They display a noticeable white U-shaped patch on their chest. The ears are large and floppy; they have very good hearing. The claws of the Sloth Bear are sickle-shaped and deeply curved. Size: 5-6 ft. and 120-310 lbs.
Sloth Bears are also called Baloo, Honey Bear, Jungle Joker and Lip Bear, and they live in the forested areas and grasslands of India and Sri Lanka.
